My mum has been producing Hong Zhao Jiu confinement rice wine or 红糟米酒 all ingredients from Singapore. Our wine is sweet and red based Hokkien type. The red rice wine is used for cooking dishes during confinement period. Our wine can also be consumed in small volumes when you are pregnant. The main purpose of this confinement rice wine is to nourish the blood, promote blood circulation and ward off colds.
Due to market demand, we had recently introduced white confinement rice wine 白米酒 for confinement dishes cooking. The difference is the red rice barn is not added into it but the process of making is the same as Hong Zhao Jiu.
